Peter Strom, Ph.D., has focused his research on the microbial ecology of the biological treatment of wastes. This has included work on activated sludge and rotating biological contactors (RBCs) for wastewaters; nitrification in wastewater treatment and receiving waters; biological phosphorus removal; composting of municipal solid waste, sludges, and yard wastes; and bioremediation.
