Debra Palmer, Ph.D., is a nutrition specialist whose research interests surround issues related to the effective delivery and evaluation of nutrition education for limited-resource people.
Palmer is the state's Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program coordinator and the director of the New Jersey Food Stamp Nutrition Education Program and its corresponding statewide network.
She has published papers on a qualitative study of the nutrition education needs of limited resource urban fathers, the cultural considerations necessary to be addressed for effective nutrition education with multicultural audiences, and the effective measurement of food security and dietary quality in nutrition education interventions with limited resource audiences.
