Dr. Brigitte Cypress is an Associate Professor at Rutgers University School of Nursing in Camden, New Jersey. She holds an EdD in nursing education from Teachers College Columbia University and has 20 years of critical care experience, and 15 years teaching research, critical care, evidence-based practice, nursing theory, health and illness, and complex health theory, including the doctorate level at The Graduate Center, City University of New York Ph.D. in Nursing Program, and Pace University Leinhard School of Nursing, Ph.D. in Nursing Program. Dr. Cypress published the first textbook on the fundamentals of qualitative phenomenological nursing research, which puts her among the top-notch internationally-renowned researchers and scholars in the field of family-centered critical care nursing practice and research. She is an active family science researcher and Recipient of the 2024 Eastern Nursing Research Society Suzanne Feetham Nurse Scientist Family Research Award, and several other research awards. Professor Cypress is also a prolific author and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications. Her published works have 3895 (as of August 2024) citations globally.
