Sanjib Bhuyan, Ph.D., is an applied economist whose research and teaching expertise have relevance in the following areas: analysis of strategies, structure, performance, and competitiveness of industries in the food sector; assisting public/government agencies to assess market competitiveness and developing strategies for economic development; and conducting market research to solve marketing-related issues. Dr. Bhuyan has proven expertise in the initiation, execution, management, supervision, and active participation in numerous mission-oriented applied economics research projects in these research areas. To achieve various research objectives in these three focus areas, he conducts both independent and collaborative research. He mostly uses quantitative methods, including empirical modeling and quantitative analysis of economic data, but when research calls for a synthesis of research on a specific research topic, he may resort to using a non-quantitative approach if that makes more sense.
